Lesson #2 - Steps vs slides

When you create Nickelled guides you have the choice of using two different UI elements to show people how to use your website: steps and slides. Whilst they look similar they each serve different purposes.

Steps highlight a specific area or element on the page. You can add these to any element on your web page. You can even drag them around to point them exactly where you want.

Slides are great for setting page or guide context. We advise using them at the start and end of guides to explain to your audience what they are about to view and then recap any important points at the end of the guide. People also like to add them between pages if the context of the page changes.
