We report your guide views on a unique views per session basis, where a session is a one-day period. This stops your data being significantly skewed by a small number of users. Here's some examples:
Example 1:
Day 1
John views your guide
Bob views your guide
Jane views your guide
Denise views your guide
Day 2
Clive views your guide
Shelly views your guide
Then we'd report 6 views (one per user per day).
Example 2:
Day 1
John views your guide 10 times
Bob views your guide
Jane views your guide
Denise views your guide
Day 2
Clive views your guide
Shelly views your guide 5 times
Then we'd still report 6 views (one per user per day). Even though John and Shelly viewed the guides many times, they only count as one view; because the data would be misleading if we included all of their views and you wanted to see the number of viewers you had. As a result you may see lower numbers than you'd expect.
Example 3:
Day 1
John views your guide
David views your guide
Jane views your guide for the first time
Denise views your guide
Day 2
Jane views your guide a second time
Clive views your guide
Shelly views your guide
Then we'd report 7 views (one per user per day). In this example, Jane has viewed your guide a second time, but since it's a new session the next day it's counted as a new view.
